It extends from 36 kilometers south of Cancun and ends in the town known as Punta Allen at the south of Quintana Roo.
Did you know that it was originally called “Cancun-Tulum corridor” but in 1999 it was renamed it to Riviera Maya.
The amazing coral reef, is the second largest barrier reef system in the world.
It goes from the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (also know as Belize Barrier Reef) and continues along the whole length of the Riviera Maya continuing southward to Guatemala.
Also it is really famous for its large extension of all inclusive resorts, boutique hotels, and many fine-dining restaurants, you can find all kind of restaurants with all types of food, you should try Mexican food, but, be careful with habanero chilli, it is very very hot.
All of this extension is close to the beautiful and turquoise beaches.
